Great episode. Thank you. I've listened to this one and Ladies of Lynch, but not the first one. I somehow haven't come across it. But anyway, I liked this one, and you and Last Things had some insights that I hadn't considered. I always thought Lost Highway was about the transmigration of souls, but I'm reconsidering that notion. Thanks again.
lynch fucking sucks. he signed the polanski petition to free polanski after he raped a child. lynch's life's work was snuff porn focusing on rape torture and murder of women. he fed it to you with sugar and sex, and capped it with a hollywood ending to get paid. garmonbozia is him mocking you the audience for focusing your attention on his rape fantasies while he got off on it with his lame wholesome chungus image. his work is not uplifting or inspirational r/film reddit tier trash. he is rotting in hell forever. find better heroes and stop deepthroating this guy.
Great discussion. It’s interesting you didn’t like Inland Empire. I also found Inland a struggle to get through and everyone said the same thing on Frodi’s tribute episode to Lynch. Not a favourite amongst Lynch fans it seems.
I know that Lynch was really excited to switch to digital film, but i really feel like the medium failed him; he couldn’t make his typical use of color: it’s not beautiful to watch, whereas all of his other movies are, at the very least, a feast for the eyes, even when they fail in other ways.
I also feel like that film just lends a lot of ammo to Lynch detractors: it’s his most ‘absurdist film’ and I feel like some imagery he just throws in there for the sake of being weird (especially in the end credits.)
The best way I have found to characterize Inland Empire: it’s what someone who doesn’t like Lynch’s films thinks his films are like. :(
Thanks. I have yet to watch that movie. He has the most distinctive voice I have ever heard. I still have his primal scream in my head from Charlie's Angels.

He’s not my hero and in another episode I talk about how nihilistic MD is.

I mean I don’t even feel the need to ever see it lol

From what movie is that Crispin Glover clip?
Wow. I can’t believe you spotted him by voice alone. It’s Dead Man

Sweet treat
Definitely watch Elephant Man. Overshare, but it’s the only movie I ever cried to. I was was a sensitive adolescent and it awoke some deep feelings.
