I would say in response to Necro's(?) summation of how Yarvin traces the roots of progressivism to Calvinism that it's worth mentioning that the first of the five points of Calvinism is the total depravity of man. Contrast that with what seems to be a core tenet of most if not all progressive ideologies, which is that man is perfectable, given the right circumstances.
With respect to the "new earth" he talks about, a good Calvinist knows that man's efforts, regardless of his standing with God, are corrupt, and thereby can only be redeemed by God. Simply put, it's not man who brings about the new earth, but God.
