Great talk. I'm a huge fan of the movie and book. (I highly recommend the book, it's really funny.) Some additional info: I've read Bret Easton Ellis saying Patrick Bateman is "the worst version of [himself]" and that jives with the misogynist homosexual interpretation but Ellis has also said that Patrick is based entirely on his father (who as far as I know is a highly successful businessman) maybe that changes the analysis or maybe not. Have you read Girl with Curious Hair where DFW dabs on Ellis? Contrasting the two of them could make for a good podcast or talk. Wallace versus Ellis or American Psycho versus Infinite Jest -- each the magnum opus of the author and, to some degree, marking the transition into the digital age. Also Ellis is kinda based, would Wallace be if he were alive?
One of the most legendary rants I’ve ever seen totally genius to do it on Valentine’s Day
Awesome complement. Thanks
